Mark Gorton

Mark Gorton, a Social Science / Humanities Teacher, currently teaches a full slate of subjects at Mountain View Alternative High School in Rathdrum, ID, part of the Lakeland School District.  In the last 12 years, he has taught Public Speaking, Acting, U.S. History, U.S Government, Geography and Computer Applications.  Mark’s education includes a Bachelors in Communications and is endorsed in Social Studies.  He has participated as an Idaho Leads team member in 2014-2015, is a member of the Lakeland School District report card and mastery grading committee, and was recently recommended for nomination to the Idaho Professional Standards Commission.

Throughout his career Mark has always endeavored to integrate technology into his daily lessons to help engage at-risk students to help them make the transition from high school to college and career readiness.
