No Red Ink

No Red Ink is a web-based software that can be connected to a teacher's Edmodo account or Google account and creates student accounts without requiring an email address (a must for many students). Based on a Diagnostic assessment, teachers can create assignments and quizzes, that will be graded by No Red Ink, and target Common Core skills using your students’ interests. During 5-10 minute practice sets, students will receive support whenever needed and No Red Ink will track growth using color-coded heat maps.

Draw & Tell is an IOS app created by Duck Duck Moose that taps into students creativity. Students can draw something then tell a story about it, and share it with others. For K to grade 8.

Duolingo

Duolingo is a web-based program also available as an IOS app that teaches languages through mini-lessons designed to motivate students to grow through races and earning points for correct answers. What is nice about this program is that the base language can be changed from English to another such as Spanish to teach English. For all grade levels.

Ted-Ed

Ted-Ed provides a library of lessons built around videos from the Ted-Ed library or other sites such as YouTube. There are two kinds of lessons: one is a result of expert educators collaborting with screenwriters and animators and the second is lessons crafted by users who uploaded videos from YouTube and built lessons around them. Videos are formated to be stopped and questions, discussion topics, or other materials may be added, creating a lesson built around the content of the video. For all grade levels.
