Collaborative Student Display Station

Collaborative Student Display Stations (CSDS) serve as a flexible teaching tool. With a collaborative station, a teacher has more resources available to them through the internet; interactive, web 2.0 sites; their own personally created files; and more--all of which broadens understanding of concepts taught in class. Also, the stations provide students with a way to show what they know through an array of digital projects from simple survey responses to teacher questions to videos or podcasts demonstrating a lesson on a given topic. Doodle

Doodle is a web-based communication tool that allows you to send out a poll to see which dates work best for invitees and then to select accordingly. Doodle also connects to many calendar softwares-- such as Outlook, Google Calendar, iCloud, iCal, etc.-- so that the scheduled events can be added to a user's calendar. 

SignUpGenius

SignUpGenius is another great coomunication tool that is free. Like the others, it protects the privacy of people's contact information and will not require a person to sign up for the service in order to respond to the invitation. A teacher needs only add the parental contact emails, create the sign up email and set the settings to remind users of the event a few days ahead. Other handy features make signing up for Parent Conferences easy and reminders of events and what to bring automated. 

Socrative

Discovery Education Network

No Red Ink

No Red Ink is a web-based software that can be connected to a teacher's Edmodo account or Google account and creates student accounts without requiring an email address (a must for many students). Based on a Diagnostic assessment, teachers can create assignments and quizzes, that will be graded by No Red Ink, and target Common Core skills using your students’ interests. During 5-10 minute practice sets, students will receive support whenever needed and No Red Ink will track growth using color-coded heat maps.

Tinkercad

Students can design their own 3D objects in this web-based app. There is no need to no CAD to create your own objects for 3D printing. For grades 9 and up.

Hopscotch

With the Hopscotch iOS app, coding is made easier. No typing or tricky syntax. Just drag blocks of code with your finger and play with what you make instantly. Also, users can make many things like their own games such as a new version of Geometry Dash, or a journey to outer space, create digital art. The possibilities are limitless. For grades 6 and up.
