Doceo Center Lab Teacher Workshops
Teacher workshops will be held at the Doceo Center Lab one Thursday of each month throughout the school year (beginning in October) from 4:00-5:30.
We will explore a different area of technology integration at each session. Teachers will have an opportunity to explore each tool and consider how to apply it in their classroom. Spaces are limited! Sign-up here to reserve your seat today!
Teachers who attend four sessions can earn 1 pd credit ($60/credit) if they also complete a reflection (per session) about incorporating the technologies in their classrooms. Submit your reflections* here. (*Please note that all reflections are due by 4:00pm on Friday, May 13th)
October 15, 2015 - Communication Tools-This session will explore a variety of technology tools to aid in communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
November 12, 2015 - Tools to Support Literacy-This session will highlight technology tools that support literacy for all grade levels. Learn how to support students in accessing complex texts, and explore resources for current events.
December 10, 2015 -Student Assessment-This session will spotlight technology tools for formative assessment. Learn how to get real-time feedback without the need for student devices and utilize game-based learning tools to engage students with interactive assessments.
January 14, 2016 - Google Collaboration #1-Drive, Docs & Drawings, This session will dig into the world of Google Apps for Education and part 1 of the Google Docs suite. Learn how to use these collaborative tools to meet the Common Core standards for writing and research.
February 11, 2016 - Using Video in the Classroom-Many teachers already use some video in the classroom, but this session will take your skills to the next level! Learn tools to help you customize videos with questions, commentary and quizzes.
March 10, 2016 - Google Collaboration #2-Forms, Sheets, Classroom and hidden tools, In this session we will continue our exploration of Google Apps for Education (GAFE) and learn about some of the hidden treasures inside the Google tools.
April 7, 2016 - Tools to Support Subject Areas-In this session we will explore a variety of web-based tools that are subject-area and grade-level specific.
May 12, 2016 - Exploring Apps for Chromebooks & iPads-In this session we will explore the latest apps that: meet student needs, are visually appealing, simple to use, are open-ended, and provide opportunities for students to grow in a particular area.
Please note that the Doceo Center Lab is located in the basement of the Bruce Pitman Center (former SUB) on S. Deakin Street in Moscow.
